If you are like many of us, you will probably find yourself traveling this holiday season at some point. When that happens, you might also be transporting a prepared dish to the holiday festivities that you are attending. Depending on your circumstances, this can be tricky business. With that, we here at Jim Falk Lincoln of Maui in Kahului decided to come up with a few tips to help simplify the process.

The easiest and best thing to do is to have a passenger hold the dish while you drive. Obviously, this isn't always an option for everyone if they are traveling alone. In that case, you want to start by finding some kind of container with a sealable lid that is not very prone to leaks. If it can pass a spill test in your kitchen, then it should be safe for your vehicle.

Another way to help prevent spills while you are transporting holiday goodies is to put the dish in a cardboard box that will sit flat on the floor or your vehicle, or if it is too big for that you can also put it on the seat and put the safety belt around it to keep it from sliding around.
